Kim Kohlenberg
Kim Kohlenberg founded K & W Distributing Company in 1980, selling his first bag of a single brand of dog food to area hunters. Having grown and expanded the business over three decades and distribution into six states, Kohlenberg saw the changes and consolidation taking place in the Pet Food distribution business and successfully sold the business in 2012.
Kim joined Phillips Pet as an Operations Manager until December 2013. Having a desire to share his expertise and funding for perspective businesses, Kohlenberg along with his wife Penny, founded 5K Capital Inc.. Together they help to “Build Kingdom Businesses.” As Angel Investors, the Kohlenberg’s goal is to help business owners grow their businesses successfully.
Along with managing 5-K Capital, Kim serves on several corporate as well as non- profit boards. Current investments include DineAmic Group, Navigate Power, Lannon Tank Co.,Patch of Land, R7 Partners, ProVet Investment Holdings, ADI Investment, Verde Solutions, Everclean Car Wash, Six Points West, FlexDex, Apollo Restaurant, Black Creek Industrial Reit IV, West Monroe Capital Fund and C-III Recovery Fund III.

Penny Kohlenberg
Penny Kohlenberg has a diversified background in Accounting, Human Resources and Advertising. Penny recently guided K & W Distributing’s financial department through their acquisition by Phillips Pet. Penny served as Controller at Phillips Pet, Ohio until December 2013. Teaming with her husband Kim, founded 5K Capital Inc. as an Angel investing fund. Penny specializes in maintaining the highest integrity in regards to accounting and financial procedures. Kent Kohlenberg
Kent is a Territory Sales Representative with Micro Focus in Dallas, Texas. He works with Fortune 500 companies providing IT operation management solutions. Previously, Kent worked at Revel Systems, a private equity backed iPad based point of sale company, and the Cleveland Cavaliers. He was with the Cavaliers during their 2016 NBA Championship season and played an integral part in selling out Quicken Loans arena every game.
Kara Kohlenberg
Kara owns and operates an e-commerce business that is based in Arizona. She has extensive experience procuring fast-moving products worldwide and finding the appropriate marketplaces with which to resell. Previously, Kara was in finance and spent time investing in both public and private companies She is licensed to practice law in New York where she worked at Moore Capital Management before moving into the venture capital world. As both a Managing Director at SeedInvest and a VC partner she sourced hundreds of deals and helped lead the entire funding process.
Connor Kohlenberg
- Connor is a Consultant with West Monroe Partners and is a member of the firm's Mergers & Acquisitions practice in New York .
He has experience serving leading private equity investors with pre-transaction due diligence and post close separation and integration work within the manufacturing and distribution , construction and materials supply, and technology industries. Connor also had experience in supply chain and operations management, where he has driven cost reduction, process improvement, and supplier certification/evaluation projects for a large agriculture and construction equipment manufacturer.
